Ionia Daily Std. -  Monday, July 22, 1901

August F. Nimz died on Saturday evening at 7 o'clock after an extended and 
painful illness, from cancer of the stomach. He was aged 50 years and 1 month, 
and resided at No. 410 Forest street. Mr. Nimz was for a long time the night 
watchman at the Wagon Works, and it was he who was bound and gagged on the one 
night about a year ago while the burglars proceeded to dynamite and rifle the 
large office safe. Burial on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 O'clock, with the 
funeral service at the Lutheran church, Rev. Succop officiating.
