She was born April 21, 1921 in Easton Twp. The daughter of Lewis and Neva (Woodard) Young. She married Earl A. Nobis Sept. 3, 1940, he preceded her in death in 1984. Madaline graduated from Ionia High School. She worked for Ypsilanti Reed in Ionia. She farmed and gardened and was a 4-H leader for many years. She loved to travel. Her favorite job was working at the Village Restaurant in Muir with Doris where she was known as Grandma. Madaline is survived by her children Gordon (Leona) Nobis of Muir and Doris (Darrell) Pierce of Lyons; grandchildren, Dwayne, Mike, Dave, Jim, Peggy, Melissa, Diana and Wendy; great-grandchildren, Mark, Andy, Taylor, Abbey, David, Morgan, Kolby, Nick, Alex and Jim; stepgreat-grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeff, Allen, Tabitha, Kristin, Samantha, Gerald and Stephanie and seven stepgreat-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, daughter and son-in-law Don and Marilyn Wood, grandson Danon Pierce and sister Jean Carpenter. Madaline will be missed by her entire family. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 28, 2008 at 2 p.m. with Rev. David Bogda officiating. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
