Noble, 79, of 3606 Reeds Lake boulevard, Grand Rapids. He worked for the Pere Marquette railroad in Ionia for many years and resided on Pearl street. He died at his home Wednesday morning following a lengthy illness. Born in England, he worked in the shipyards and immigrated to Belding and moved to Ionia in 1903. Employed by the Pere Marquette railroad for 38 years he was a foreman until moving to Grand Rapids in 1936. He has been retired since 1947. He was a life member of the Masonic lodge in Ionia and was affiliated with Grace Episcopal church in Grand Rapids. He had been a member of an Episcopal church choir for 70 years. Surviving are his wife, Lydia Anne, and a son, Sydney, three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter of Grand Rapids. He is also survived by three brothers and eight sisters. Funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Metcalf mortuary.
