The Ionia Standard, Friday, February 5, 1886
The mother of Gideon Noel died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Jones 
last Friday night.  Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the M. E. 
church.  Rev. Mr. Jewell, of Ionia, conducted the services.  Mrs. Noel was 
best known as an earnest, patient Christian, having given her heart to her 
Master when only thirteen years of age.  She had passed her eightieth 
birthday, retaining her faith in her Master to the end.
