Wave, Thurs. Aug. 27, 1970 Carl F. Noffke Passes Away Carl F. Noffke, 52, rural Lake Odessa, passed away Saturday morning at Blodgett Memorial Hospital, Grand Rapids, following a long illness. He was born at Middleville, October 24, 1917, son of Herman and Mary (Finkbeiner) Noffke and was a 1936 graduate of Middleville high school. He entered the U.S. Army, April 16, 1941 and served a short time. Mr. Noffke married Hazel Buxton of Caledonia, March 14, 1942 and the moved to Lake Odessa area in 1950 and lived on their farm northeast of Lake Odessa. An active member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church, he also served as a trustee. Surviving are his wife; one son, Thomas of Lake Odessa; one daughter, Carma, at home; his mother, Mrs. Mary Noffke of Hastings; three brothers, George of Middleville, Wilbur and Roy of Caledonia; and a sister, Mrs. Clarence (Mary) Burrill of Kalamazoo. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 1:30 at Lakewood United Methodist Church. Rev. Wilbur Williams officiated with burial in Pinehill Cemetery, Kentwood.
