Born May 7, 1949 in Jackson,Michigan, son of Carl F. & Hazel D.(Buxton) Noffke. Tom went to Lakewood Public Schools graduating with the class of 1967. He later joined the Navy serving during Vietnam. When he returned from the service he worked on the family farm with his Dad & learned his dad's love for Carpentry. Tom worked as a custodian at Lakewood public Schools & then Saranac Public Schools before going to work at Caledonia bus garage & as a custodian. Tom also painted buildings with Bob Warner for many years. Tom married Marilyn Oaks Smith October 9, 1999 at Lakewood United Methodist Church in Lake Odessa. Tom was a past member of Lakewood United Methodist, pitching on the softball team & singing while his wife played the organ. Tom was a former Boy Scout Leader of troop 152 in Sunfield. He enjoyed golfing, bowling & CB radios where he was nicknamed "Tony Tiger". Tom loved watching the Detroit Tigers & Tiger Woods. He loved camping with family, mowing his yard to perfection, decorating outside for Christmas & Jigsaw Puzzles with Marilyn. Trips to Mackinac City to see light houses with Marilyn for their anniversaries. Tom will always be remembered as the "Mayor" because everyone knew his name. Survivors ar his wife,Marilyn Noffke, children, Annette (Scott)Triezenberg, Sam(Rebecca) Noffke & Randy Noffke. Step-children, Jami Butler, Mary (Chris) Strasser & Michael Oaks, Sister Carna (Brian) Harper. Grandchildren, Hope,Holly, Cosette, Jasmine, Benjamin & Jason. Several step- grandchildren, Nieces Katie (Mark) Crego & Brayden Crego. Best Friends, Gary & Terry Smith. Preceded in death by his parents, stepson Steven Oaks & Grandmother Maryann Noffke. Visitation will be held at Central Church 912 4th Ave.,Lake Odessa from 10 am. Memorial Service will be held at Central Church on Friday September 5th at 11:00 a.m.with Rev.John Waite & Rev.Paul Reissmann IV officiating. A luncheon will follow the services. Memorial contributions ay be made to Tom's Family. Arrangements in care of Lake Funeral Home.
