NOLAN - Word was received in Ionia Tuesday of the death of Donald J. Nolan, 24, son of Mrs. Charlotte Nolan, West Washington street. Death occurred in the American Legion hospital in Battle Creek late Monday afternoon. He had been confined there for the past two years suffering from tuberculosis. He was born in Ionia, March 18, 1913, and was a resident here until September 27, 1934, when he entered an Ann Arbor hospital for the treatment of tuberculosis. In the following April he was transferred to the Battle Creek hospital where he was a patient until his death. He attended the SS. Peter and Paul academy here and was graduated with the class of 1930. During his high school days he was active in various sports, playing on the basketball teams in 1928 and 1929. After his graduation from high schools he attended Michigan State college for one year. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Charlotte Nolan, and a brother, Clayton of Ionia, and his father, John Nolan, of Chicago. Rosary will be recited at the Myers funeral home on East Main street Wednesday evening at 7:30. Funeral services will be held from SS. Peter and Paul church Thursday morning at 9 o'clock. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet cemetery."
