Normington will be held from the residence, 331 N. Jefferson street, Thursday afternoon at two o’clock. Mr. Normington was born in England, but came to America while still quite young. He fought in the civil war with the Third Michigan Cavalry. For the past four years he has been the commander of William H. Borden post of the G.A.R., and there was no member of the order more thought of than he. He was a loyal and faithful worker and an active citizen. He has lived in Ionia for 50 years, 10 years ago he retired from the farm just outside of the city and has since lived at the present residence. He leaves a widow and ten children, six girls and four boys, all of whom are expected for the funeral. Rev. E.E. Branch will officiate and burial will be at Highland Park cemetery.
