Feb. 6, 1976 OLIVE H. NORMINGTON MUIR - Mrs. Olive H. Normington, 96, of Struble road, Muir, died at Ionia Memorial hospital Thursday evening following an illness of one week. Born in Lucas county, Iowa, August 25, 1879, she was the daughter of William and Sything Hendrix. She graduated from Afton High school and Afton Business college in Iowa. She came to Grand Rapids as a dress maker in 1904 and was married August of 1906 to Ray Normington. He died December of 1972 after 66 years of marriage. She was a 70 year member of the first Baptist church, belonged to the Ronald Willing Workers club, Social Hour club and was chairman four years for the College Home Extention group. Surviving are two sons, William of Muir and Lionel of Portland; ten grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted Monday at 2 pm at the Hull Memorial chapel in Muir. Rev. Roy Pitts of the Ionia First Baptist church will officiate and interment will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established for the First Baptist Church of Ionia. Rev.Roy Pitts of the First Baptist church of Ionia officiated and interment was at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Bearers were Donald Miller, Ronald Hill, Lyman Dennis, Robert and Leon Normington.
