The Ionia Sentinel-Standard

Lionel R. Normington, 79, of Portland died July 17, 1992 in Lansing.  He was 
born in Ionia on Jan. 10, 1913, the son of Ray and Olive (Hendrix) 
Normington.  He was retired from General Tire Company, a lifelong farmer, and 
a member of the South Boston Grange.  

He is survived by three daughters, Doris (Donald) Miller of Freeport, Sandra 
(Ronald) Hill of Belding, and Lois (Mark) Smith of Portland; two sons, Robert 
(Jann) Normington of Lyons and Dennis (Pamela) Normington of Portland; 17 
grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, William Normington 
of Ionia.  He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille, and son Leon. 

Services were held July 20, at the Gorsline-Runciman Neller Chapel, with the 
Rev. Elaine Buker officiating.  Interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens 
Cemetery.  Contributions may be left at the chapel for the American Heart 
Association.
