Edwin Norris, of Eaton Rapids, died Monday, July 13, 2009 at the Heartland 
Health Care Center in Ionia at the age of 85.

He was born Jan. 9, 1924 in Belding. Mr. Norris served with the 148th General 
Hospital Division, during World War II, the Pacific Theater, as a Med Tech 5 
and was discharged Dec. 13, 1945. He was a June 1946 graduate, of Lansing 
Eastern High School and retired after 30 + years with the Michigan Dept. of 
Mental Health. Mr. Norris was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, in Eaton 
Rapids, also the Knights of Columbus, the Ionia American Legion, the Sheridan 
VFW, Ionia Moose Lodge and the N.R.A.

He is survived by daughters, Pamela (Leonard) Bettelyoun of Milan, N.M. and 
Kristine Norris of Ionia and stepsisters Geraldine (Herbert) Gilbertson and 
Iola McClardy, of Holt.  Mr. Norris was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian 
(Fischel) Norris; his parents; 7 siblings and two stepsisters.

Funeral services are being arranged by Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids. 
Mass will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church in Eaton Rapids at 11 a.m. on 
Thursday July 16, 2009. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Garden, 
Lansing. In lieu of flowers a memorial may be given to The Traveling Vet, in 
Eaton Rapids.
