Ionia Sentinel Standard, 2002

Mrs. Marcella A. North, 88, of Ionia passed away March 2, 2002.

She was born on Jan. 8,. 1914 in Butternut, the daughter of James and Margaret 
(Moran) Ward.  She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Carson City.  She 
was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and she volunteered in many 
capacities in the church.

Surviving are one son, Kenneth (Sherry) North of Ionia; two granddaughters, 
Corey (Tim) Nurenberg and Kendra; and two great-grandchildren, Garret and 
Breanna.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald in 1991; and her 
son, Richard in 1966.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday from SS. Peter and 
Paul Catholic Church in Ionia with Fr. Melvin Fox as presider.  The organist 
will be Mary Cusack.  Interment in the spring at Mount Olivet Cemetery.  
Visitation for Marcella will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday at SS. Peter 
and Paul Church with a Prayer Vigil Service that night at 7:30 p.m.  Memorial 
contributions can be made to SS. Peter and Paul Church Memorial Fund or in 
memory of her son Richard to Muscular Dystrophy in care of Cook Funeral Home in 
Ionia.
