North was attended from the home in Easton Sunday afternoon at one o’clock, Rev. J. R. Niergarth officiating. The pallbearers were Charles North of Portland, James Alspaugh, James Chrysler and O. C. Whorley of Ionia. Interment in Oak Hill cemetery. Music by Mrs. Eugene Smith and Mrs. H. E. Spencer. Ann Chrysler, daughter of James and Amelia Chrysler, was born Dec. 9, 1827, at St. Thomas, Ont. She came to Michigan with her parents in 1837. The family settled in a log house west of where the prison is located, the settlement then being known as Utica. From there the Chrysler family moved into the village of Ionia, and lived on East Main Street near the Barnes home. They moved from there to near Saranac, where she was married. Mr. and Mrs. North lived on the old farm in Easton 60 years. The date of the marriage of Thomas B. North and Ann Chrysler was July 8, 1848. Mrs. North’s death occurred April 8, 1909, at 12:30 p.m. She is survived by her husband, Thomas B. North, one brother, John Chrysler of Lincoln, Nebraska, four sisters, Cynthia M. Hunter and Alice L. Locke of Battle Creek, Amelia Lane Hazzard of Los Angeles, California. Sarah A. Alspaugh of Beulah, Mich., and two adopted children, Mrs. Diana A. Whorley of Ionia and Charles A. North of Portland.
