Lyle W. North, 79, of Ionia died Tuesday afternoon at the Ionia County 
Memorial Hospital.

He was born August 30, 1914, in Butternut, Mich., the son of Victor North 
and Ada Ekelberry North. He was married on January 6, 1979, in Naples Fla. 
to the former Mary Murphy, and she survives him.

He was employed at General Tire for 38 years before retiring. He was a 
veteran of World War II in the United States Navy; a member of SS Peter and 
Paul's Catholic church; the Seebring, Fla. Elks Lodge; the Seebring Lions 
Club; and the Ionia Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his wife Mary; two sons, Dan North of Belding and Rex. 
North of Spring Lake; seen grandchilren; and seve reat-granchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Edith and Opal, and two brothers, 
Clarence and Marvin.

The funeral mass will be held at SS Peter & Paul.  Rev. Hall officiating.
