The Ionia Standard, Friday, August 16, 1889
Mrs. Diana North, widow of John North, and for 47 years, nearly half a 
century, an esteemed and beloved resident of Ionia county, died in the 
township of Easton on Monday, at the advanced age of 85 years.  She was the 
mother of a large family of children, six of whom are yet alive, and who 
tenderly laid away the remains of her who combined so many of the elements of 
a good mother: Ezra, Thomas and Fred, all successful farmers in Easton; 
Orville and Charles, the former a resident of this city, the latter of St. 
Johns; and Mary, wife of H. R. Hawley of Lakeview.  The funeral was attended 
from the residence of Ezra North, Wednesday morning.
