July 14, 1978 LAKE ODESSA- Roy A. Norton, 85, of 2863 Carlton Center road, Hastings, died Thursday afternoon at Pennock hospital in Hastings where he had been a patient for one day. Before being a patient in Hastings, Mr. Norton had been a patient in the Barry County Medical Facility. He was born in Barry County, September 2, 1892, the son of Henry and Emma Ulrich Norton. He married Elnora Cole Ingram, November 11, 1925 in Hastings. Mr. Norton lived and farmed in the Carlton Center area most of his life. He was a past member of the Oddfellow lodge in Hastings. Survivors include his wife; two step-daughters, Mrs. Grace Schaibley of Waukegan, Illinois and Mrs. Paul (Mary) Smith of Belair; one brother, Claude of Nashville; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Belson of Middleville; Mrs. Rose Engle of Hastings and Mrs. Minnie Taggart of Cottonwood, Arizona; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and grand- nephews. Services are Sunday at 2 pm from Pickens-Koops funeral chapel in Lake Odessa with Pastor Edward Herzel officiating. Burial in in Fuller cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home Saturday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
