Belding Banner, 2 Mar 1899

Smyrna. – Mrs. A.H. Norton who has been sick all last summer died last Thursday
which leaves Mr. Norton alone for the second time.  She had not been with us but
a few years but we had learned to love her and her kind and pleasant disposition
had gained many friends at this place.  We shall miss her, her only son will
miss her, her two step-sons who thought so much of her will find a lonely house
without her, and we are sure that in the heart of her husband, Gusty will ever
be remembered as all that was kind and lovely.  Her funeral was held in Muir,
her childhood home, where she was taken for interment.  She was a member of the
order of Maccabees and was kindly remembered by a beautiful wreath of flowers
from them.
