Joyce E. Norton
Lake Odessa, MI. - Joyce E. Norton, of Lake Odessa, and formerly of Eaton Rapids,
passed away on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018 at the age of 84.

Joyce was born on November 8, 1933 in Albion township., the daughter of Milo and
Helen (Hardt) Earl. She graduated from Albion High School, class of 1951 and married James
Norton that same year. Joyce moved to Eaton Rapids in 1956, where she raised her
three children. She worked as a baker at Carters IGA in Charlotte and atNorton's Party
store in Eaton Rapids.

Joyce was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star at Brookfield Township and 
volunteered at Easton Community Palliative Care.She enjoyed gardening, quilting,
garage sales and thrift stores. Above all Joyce was a kind, loving, sweet hearted woman and
a mother to many beyond her biological children.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jim Norton; brother, Danny
Earl and sister, Norma Lautenslager.

Surviving are her daughters, Deborah (Steve) Harman,  April (Dan) Balger, Karen
(Charles) Ambs; grandchildren, Mathew (Wendy) Dassance. Lisa Norton, Becky (Dan) Robson, Danny
(Juliette) Balger, Emily Ambs, Brandon Ambs; four great-grandchildren; sister,
Sherie(Allan) Buckingham and brother, Doug (Karen) Earl.

A memorial service was held Friday, Aug. 10, 2018 at Skinner Funeral Home, Easton
Rapids, Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Palliative
Care, Grand Rapids Community foundation or a charity of one's choice. To share memories or
