He was injured while attending the Ionia Free Fair, Aug. 8 when he fell as he was leaving the grandstand. It was though at the time he suffered a stroke or heart attack which caused the fall,, as he had been in ill health a long time. He has lived here most of his life with exception of a few years spent near Grand Ledge. Surviving besides Mrs. Middaugh are three other daughters, Mrs. Elanor Rolls of Sebewa, Mrs. Irene Brink of Mason City, Neb., and Mrs. Geraldine Eldridge of Lake Odessa, a step daughter Mrs. Zoa Jensen of Grand Rapids, eight grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Millie Garlinger, Mrs. Flossie Earle and Miss Emma Nott, all of Lake Odessa and two brothers, Harvey of Lae Odessa and James of Lowell. His wife Rebecca died March 12, 1942. Funeral services were held Thursday (today) at 2 at the Mapes funeral home, Sunfield with burial in Lakeside cemetery.
