Mr. Nowak, dead on arrival at the hospital at 9:10 p.m., was reported shot earlier in the evening while hunting with a group north of Saginaw. He was born in Grand Rapids April 28, 1917, the son of John and Lottie Chojnacki Nowak. He lived the past 12 years in St. Johns and was employed in the maintenance department of Fisher Body in Lansing. Prior to moving to St. Johns he lived in the Saranac area. June 28, 1953 he was married to Trellis Worrall of St. Johns who survives. Other survivors are two children, Keith 11, and Barbara 5; three sisters, Mrs. Rose Gaca of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Violet Roseboom of Ionia and Mrs. Hattie Schaefer of Saranac. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Osgood funeral home in St. Johns with burial at the Grand Rapids Polish Roman Catholic cemetery.
