He was born near Clarksville, and lived near here for many years. Two years ago he came back here to make his home. He returned to the west about a year ago to settle his business affairs. Illness overtook him so he was unable to travel. Friends in Peteros held a funeral service there Friday. The body was being sent here this week and upon arrival services were to be held at the home of his brother, Frank. In addition to his brother, Mr. Noyes leaves a half sister, Mrs. Jessie Kelly. ------------ Funeral services were held Sunday for Ezra Noyes at the home of his brother here, the body arriving from Peteros, Washington, Friday night. It was accompanied by Mrs. J.D. Stanhope. Mr. Noyes had resided at her home 17 years and when Mr. Stanhope died three years ago he took his body to Akron, Ohio, for burial. Rev. E. Humphrey had charge of the funeral services which were at two o’clock. Mrs. Cora Bowers read “Crossing the Bar,” also some newspaper clippings sent from Washington. M.C. Weber, Claude Bowers, Fred Raymond, Elmer Cilley, Gleason Gamsby and George Thurlby acted as pall bearers. Burial was in the South Boston cemetery.
