Currigan currigan1932@concast.net September 10, 2023, 11:11 am Lehman Funeral Home - September 12, 2022 Excerpts from Portland Online Obituary RONALD "RON" NURENBERG Died September 11, 2022-age 83 Born August 21, 1939 son of Harold and Bernita (Armbrustmacher) Nurenberg. Ron grew up in Westphalia on a farm, which he loved and continued in some capacity until he no longer was physically able to farm. Ron also loved to play baseball as a child a young adult. He enjoyed horseshoes, hunting, fishing, bowling, golf, playing cards & watching sports & his children's activities. He worked in the gas department at Consumer's Energy for 30 years. He married Beverly (Martin on April 15, 1961. Together they raised 5 children. Ron & Bev. built two houses together in their marriage & had many adventures. They enjoyed travel & camping & time at the Martin cottage at Round Lake. Preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, Joseph & Carolyn Martin, grandson, Brendon Nurenberg, sister, Judy Atheron, Brother-in-law, Dennis Smith and nephews, David Smith & Jacob martin. Surviving are his wife Beverly of 61 years; 5 children,Tim (Jackie), Terry (Lisa), Lisa (Tony) Schafer, Scott (Jamie), & Becky (Scott) Halfmann. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren & their spouses & 4 great-grandchildren, brother Joe (Helen) Nurenberg, sister, Mary Smith, 4 brothers & sisters-in-laws & numerous nieces & nephews. The family want to thank Elara Caring Home Care & Hospice for their care over the years. Also all of the friends that were instrumental in helping Ron to fulfill his wish of staying in his home until his passing. Mass of christian Burial will be 10:30 am by Fr.Eric weber on Thursday, September 15 at St.Mary's Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow at St.Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm & again on Wednesday afro 12-2 pm and 6-8 pm. at St.Mary's Funeral Chapel Rosary will be prayed at 11:30 am on Wednesday at the Funeral Chapel.
