Nurenberg, 83, of Portland died Aug. 30, 1996. Mr. Nurenberg was born in Portland August 21, 1913, the son of Edward and Suzanne ()Simon) Nurenberg. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Clarabelle; one daughter, Joyce (Ken) Kennedy- Schamanek of Lansing; four sons, Kennety (Marlene) of Pewamo, Leon (Sara) of St. Johns, Allen (Mary) and Bruce (Lucy) both of Pewamo; 27 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Toni Werner-Densmore of Portland and Karen (Robert) Keefer of Sunfield; on e step-son, Robert (Marian) Densmore of Portland; two sisters, Dorothy Miller and Irene (Dale) Pennington, both of Portland; sister-in-law, Mildred Nurenberg of Ionia; and brother-in-law, Phillip Hughes of Tucson, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Esther, and son, Larry. The Rosary was recited Sept. 1 and 2. Funeral mass was celebrated Sept. 3 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Portland, with the Rev. Julian Reginato and Rev. Joseph Malewitz officiating. Rite of committal was held at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Westphalia. Arrangements were handled by Gorsline-Runciman Neller Chapel, Portland.
