The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Wednesday, January 18, 1911

Mrs. Alton Nye, of Lake Odessa, who was taken sick three weeks ago and went to 
the hospital in Grand Rapids, was operated on there, but blood poisoning set 
in and after about one week of suffering she died Friday evening Jan. 13.  The 
remains were brought to Lake Odessa Saturday and the funeral was held Sunday 
afternoon at the house.  Burial was in Lakeside cemetery.  She leaves a 
husband, one daughter, aged ten, father, mother, grandparents and a host of 
other relatives and friends to mourn their loss.
