LAKE ODESSA- Alton L. Nye, 95, of Lake Odessa died at his home Thursday evening.

He was born in Carleton township, October 21, 1876, the son of Grandville and 
Nancy Nye and spent most of his life in the Lake Odessa area. He was a graduate 
of Lake Odessa high school and Ferris Institute at Big Rapids.

He owned and operated a drug store in Lake Odessa from June 19, 1902, until his 
retirement in April of 1946.

He was a member of Central United Methodist church of Lake Odessa, Lions club 
and F&AM lodge. He was affiliated with many civic organizations including 
serving on the village council and member of Lake Odessa board of education 
many years.

Surviving are his wife, the former Beulah Meyers; two daughters, Mrs. Stanley 
Griffin of Shelby, Mrs. Jerry Bradley of Lake City; three grandsons; four great 
grandsons; half sister, Mrs. Letha Shumway of Lake Odessa.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1:30 pm at Pickens funeral chapel in Lake 
Odessa. Rev. Marvin Zimmerman will officiate and interment will be at Lakeside 
cemetery.
