NYE PASSED AWAY AT BRADENTON, FLA. ------------- BODY ARRIVES AT LAKE ODESSA. FUNERAL AT HOME OF ALTON L. NYE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. ------------- William Nye suffered a stroke of paralysis at his Bradenton, Fla. home last winter and never recovered. He died Sunday, July 7, and Mrs. Nye with the body left Bradenton by train for Lake Odessa, Monday, arriving Wednesday noon. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the home of Alton L. Nye, a nephew, with the Rev. E. H. Humphrey officiating with burial at Lakeside cemetery. Mr. Nye leaves besides his widow Bertha, a brother Hamilton Nye at Blanchard. He was 74 years old. He was born at Niles, Mich. and came to live in Odessa township when he was a year old. His life occupation was farming from which he retired about 20 years ago. He married Miss Mamie Brisbin about 1900. She died in 1920. He later married Miss Bertha Swartout of Lake Odessa and they came into the village to live. He attended the Congregational church. It was his custom to spent the winters in Florida where they had a pleasant home, while their summers were enjoyed at their home and gardens near the lake here.
