COMMUNITY SHOCKED BY DEATH OF MRS. NYE

Edna Fern Russell, only child of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Russell, born in Odessa 
township March 22, 1881 and died in Butterworth Hospital, Grand rapids Jan. 12, 
1911, aged 29 years 10 months; she was united in marriage with Alton L.Nye, of 
this village, Dec. 23rd, 1897 and to this union was born one child, Beulah Elva, 
Sept 15, 1900.

Her early life was spent in the schools of this village whee she proved herself 
and earnest and faithful student, having the love and esteem of all who knew 
her. As a woman she was a most devoted mother and a faithful mother & faithful 
wife, choosing to be in the company of her family rather than society.

Besides her parents, husband and child she leaves to mourn her departure many 
relatives and host of friends.

"But lo, the bridegroom with no further warning came for her at the waning of 
the day. She heard his voice, and smiled, and passed away without a struggle."
