Excerpts from Greenville Obituary

CARLA RAE NYE

Died Monday May 18, 2026-age 73 of Greenville,MI.
Born September 13, 1952 in Greenville, daughter of Victor & Lois Nichoson.
Carla graduated from Belding High School Class of 1971.
Through the 4-H youth program for sewing, Carla was able to travel to Washington 
D.C.
She made fun memories every year going with her family camping at McArthur's 
Landing.
On May 14, 1977 Carla married Barry Nye, They shared 38 years of marriage 
together he passed in 2015.
She was employed at High Delight, then Big Boy Restaurant, finally retired
in March of 2025 after 24 years from Meijers.
She enjoyed spending time with family & going to lunch with her lifelong friend, 
Rose Lee.
Preceded in death by her father, Victor Nichoson; stepfather Morse Sykes, 
husband, Barry Nye & brother, Craig Nichoson.
Survived by her mother Lois (Howard)Jackson; sister-in-law, Pamela (Rick Jones) 
Nichoson; her nieces & nephews, Calvin (Carol) Nichoson, Audrey (Austin) Castle, 
Aaron (Charissa) Nichoson, & Michelle (Patrick) Licciardi; and several great 
nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Hurst Funeral Home.
Visitation will begin at 10:00am,  funeral following at 11:00am, Rev. Randy 
Williams serving as officiant.
Interment will take place at Rest Haven Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions directed to a charity of your choice.
