                              Barbara Dixie Nyland

Barbara Dixie Nyland of Carson City passed away Oct.7,2010 at the Carson City 
Hospital. Barbara was born to Edwin and Velma (Henry) Grames in new Madrid, MO. 
She was married to Marshall Nyland on feb. 17, 1977 in Ionia.

Barbara attended Lakeview hih School in Battle Creek, and graduated from 
Michigan State University with a Master's Degree in Social Work. She worked as 
school social worker in the Ionia School District.Barb enjoyed playing bridge 
and working crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her husband, Marshall; children, Richard(Robin) Palmer of 
Carson City, John (Barb) Palmer of Schoolcraft, Mary Anne (David) Acosta of 
California, Susan (Duane) Christle of Carson City and Sara (Dan) Kriegbaum of 
Ionia. Also, step-children; Marcia Labon of Kalamazoo, Susan (Ken) Williamson  
of Carson City; Pamela (Frank) Kisberg of New Jersey and Theresa (Pat) Anderson 
of Lansing; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Forest Henry.

No services will be held and cremation has taken place.

Donations may be made in memory of Barb to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater 
Michigan Chapter, Mid-Michigan Region, 4604 N. Saginaw Road, Suite F, Midland,MI 
48640.
