PHYLLIS NYSTROM, 80
Phyllis K. Nystrom passed away Dec. 31, 2017, at the age of 80.

She was born Jan. 5, 1937, to Colon and Josephine Todd.

Phyllis was an avid reader, expert cross stitcher and loved to collect antiques. Her
love of antiques led her to co-own an antique store for a few years. After which she was an
Administrative Assistant for Ecolab until her retirement.

Phyllis is survived by her husband Capt. Donald Nystrom USN retired; her children
from her first marriage, Richard J. (Linda) Vern Jr., Mary Jo (Larry) Lueptow, Elizabeth A.
Portilia, Daniel J. (Tracey) Venn; step-daughter, Elizabeth (Sherwood) Duffy; sisters, Jean
Piselli, Joanne (Bob) Hull, Kathy Jones; and brother Steve; her grandchildren, Lisa (Clay)
Hall, Richard Venn, Patricia (Chad) Voskuil, Jeremy (Valerie) Johnson, Erica (Randy)
Lueptow, Daniel Lueptow, Alexandra Portilia, Collin Venn, Taylor Venn, Travis Venn, Ashley
Venn and Meredith Duffy.

She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Rion, Liam, Austin, Ava, Jayme, Ella,
Michael, Zoey, Clayton, Mackenzee, Amelia and Avery; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Colon and Josephine Todd; her first
husband, Richard J. Venn Sr.; son, Stephen J. Venn; sister, Shirley Murphy, Margie
Weisgerber, Marilyn Northard; her brother, Kenneth and twin brother Phillip.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 13, at 1 pm. at Lake Funeral Home in
Ionia.

Visitation will be from 11 am. until the time of service. Online condolences may be
