Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Tues. Feb. 5, 2013

James Joseph Oatten, 82, of Ionia passed away Feb. 2, 2013. He was born April 
11, 1931 in Saginaw, the son of Joseph and Elsie Oatten.

He was preceded in death by; sisters, Leona Clark, Betty Laure and Gerry 
Krupnek; brother, Robert Oatten; daughter, Sally Case; and grandson, Alex Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Oatten; daughter, Julie Oatten of Saginaw; 
and son, Jeff Oatten of Alpena; sister, Helen McCoy of Las Vegas; and many 
nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his step children, Lorrie and Tim 
Thompson of Ionia, Ronda and Steve Bestrom of Ionia, Tracy and Tom McClintock 
of Ionia, Jeff and Janine Erridge of Muir, Kelly Brown of Ionia and many 
grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He lived in Saginaw until he went into the Army. James is a veteran of the 
United States Army. 

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Feb. 7, 1 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home 
of Ionia.
