The Ionia Standard, Friday, August 23, 1918

Mrs. Caroline O’Beirne, aged 68 years, died at her home on East Washington 
street, Tuesday evening at 8:00 o’clock.  She had been in poor health for some 
weeks but was thought to have recovered.  Heart trouble is given as the 
immediate cause of her death. She leaves two sons and one daughter: Nelson 
living in South Boston, Arno of North Plains, and Miss Myrtle of Clermont, 
Minnesota.  There are also two brothers: J. Merrell of Lake Odessa, and Guy of 
Grand Rapids.
