Mrs. Mamie O’Beirne, 83, passed away Sunday in the Ferguson Hospital, Grand
Rapids, where she had been a patient for three weeks following a two year
illness in her Saranac home.  Funeral rites will be Wednesday p.m. in the Morris
Funeral Home with interment in the South Boston cemetery.  Survivors are two
sons, Lt. Col. Boyd O’Beirne of Coral Gables, Florida and Scott of Saranac, a
foster daughter, Mrs. Verne Klahn and a brother Ernest E. Boyd, of Youngstown,
Ohio.  Mrs. O’Beirne was born in Ohio and came to Michigan to live in 1911
following her marriage to the late Nelson M. O’Beirne.  She was a member of the
First Christian Church of Ionia, the D.A.R., the O.E.S. and several civic
organizations.  For several years she was affiliated with the Bureau of Social
Aid in Ionia and for nearly 40 years was Supt. of the Home Ec. Dept. of the
Ionia Free Fair.
