Nelson O’Beirne - Funeral services for Nelson O’Beirne were held Wednesday
afternoon at the Morris Funeral Home in Saranac and were conducted by Rev. Wayne
Davis of Ionia.  Interment was in South Boston cemetery.  Mr. O’Beirne was 78
years of age and passed away Sunday at the Ionia Convalescent Home after a
several months’ illness.  He was a well-known resident of South Boston, where he
had lived for 45 years.  He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Mamie Boyd of
Youngstown, Ohio; two sons, Adjutant Boyd O’Beirne, with the American Air Force
in Japan, and Scott O’Beirne of Grand Rapids; also, a grandson Nelson III, and a
brother Arno of North Plains.
