Charles OBERLIN passed away at his home 3 miles south of the city on M-91 early Tueday morning, where he had lived for two years. He had suffered from asthma and heart ailment. He was born in Isabella Co 10 Aug 1874, and married Jennie TAYLOR 4 Apr 1894. He was a carpenter and painter with Belding Brothers for 22 years. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Clarence SCHWADER and Mrs. Ralph BALCOME of this city, and Mrs. Beryl HULL of Grand Rapids; one son, Edgar OBERLIN, of this city; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; four brothers, William of this city, John of Kalamazoo, Frank of Lansing, and Jake, whose address is unknown. Funeral services for Mr. OBERLIN at Ellis Funeral Home will be held Friday, with Rev. H.S. ELLIS the officiating clergyman and the burial at RIver Ridge Cemetery. Pall bearers chosen are Walter OBERLIN, Bernie OBERLIN, Ray OBERLIN, Elon OBERLIN, Walter ALLEN and Henry COVEY.
