The Ionia Standard, Friday, July 9, 1897

Geo. Oberson died of consumption Friday night at the home of his aunt, Mrs. 
Wm. Sargent.  He was the last one of his immediate family, all the members of 
which had preceded him to the other world and all by the same dread disease.  
Funeral services were held at the home of his uncle, Peter Oberson, Sunday 
afternoon, Rev. W. H. Wright officiating, and his remains were laid to rest in 
our own beautiful cemetery.
