December 18, 1968 SERVICES HELD FOR BLANCHE OBERSON Mrs. Blanche M. Oberson, 83, of Eagle Point, passed away Thursday afternoon at Pennock Hospital, Hastings after a long illness and she h ad been hospitalized for seven weeks. She was the daughter of Freeman and Florence (Schooley) Klopfenstein and came to the Lake Odessa area with her parents from Gaines township, Kent county, when a small girl. She attended the Nye rural school, and married Howard Oberson February 5, 1905. They spent most of their life in the local area with the exception of four years in Detroit and sixteen years in Lansing until moving here following his retirement as a contractor with the Capitol City Wrecking Co. Mr and Mrs. Oberson have lived at their Eagle Point home for the past 16 years but had built and maintained the home many years ago. Surviving are her husband; a son, Richard of Lansing; one grand-daughter and one great-granddaughter; also a sister, Mrs Ernest (Gertrude) Bever of Eagle Point. Funeral services were held Sunday at two o'clock at the Pickens Funeral Chapel. Rev. Marvin Zimmerman officiated with burial in the Lakeside cemetery.
