Ionia Standard - Thursday, June 7, 1900

    ORANGE AND BERLIN - Death of John O'Bierne, of Berlin, Orange, June 6

John O'Bierne, long a resident of Berlin township, eight miles southwest of 
Ionia, dropped dead while operating a land roller on his farm yesterday. His 
son had just left him. Turning around the boy saw his father lying helpless on 
the ground, having fallen from the machine. A singular incident in connection 
with this death is in the fact that it was at Mr. O'Bierne's house that Mr. 
Frank Breckon died last week. Deceased leaves a wife and six children and was 
68 years of age. Heart disease, with which he had long been afflicted, was the 
cause of death. Funeral Thursday, June 7, at 10:30 a.m. from East Berlin 
church, interment in Balcom cemetery.
