All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mi/mifiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Pat Blood pat.blood@gmail.com May 24, 2011, 2:35 am Ionia County News – Thursday, 8 June 1922 Former Principal of Matherton Schools is Dead at Ann Arbor Miss Mary O’Brien of Hubbardston, for twenty years a teacher in the schools at Matherton, died Wednesday morning at St. Joseph Hospital at Ann Arbor, according to advices received by relatives at Hubbardston Thursday evening but arrangements for the obsequies have not been completed at the time of going to press. Miss O’Brien, who was 51 years of age at the time of her death was a lifelong resident of Hubbardston and leaves to mourn her departure into another land her aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael O’Brien, a brother, Patrick O’Brien, also of Hubbardston; a sister and brother, Katherine and Joseph, of Detroit, and another brother, Rev. Fr. O’Brien of Ferndale, near Detroit, who is traveling abroad at the present time, being expected back some time the latter part of this month. A sister, Sister Sedilin, who ministered to the last wants of the deceased, is also a survivor of Miss O’Brien, who had been a sufferer for several months previous to her demise.
