Funeral services for David Lynn O’Brien, 20, were held Monday morning at St. 
Patrick’s Church, Parnell.  Rev. Father Edmund Farrell officiated.  Interment 
was in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Parnell.  Rosary was recited Sunday evening at 
Huffman Funeral Home.

David, who resided at 12065 Old Belding Road, Route 3, Belding, died Friday, 
June 17 at Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids, following an auto accident.  He 
was born September 10, 1950 in Grand Rapids, the son of Thomas J. and Eleanor 
Alpers O’Brien.  They both survive.

A Ferris State College student in Big Rapids, David also played the organ for 
The Sound Set band.  He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church.

He is survived by his parents; three sisters, Patricia 16, Karen 13, and Coleen 
11, all at home; three brothers, John 17, Steven 14, and Timothy 10, all at 
home; and one grandmother, Mrs. Evelyn Alpers of Traverse City.
