O’Bryon, aged 73 years and for the past 65 years a resident of this city, had died suddenly while attending a meeting of the Thimble club, of which she was a member, at the home of Mrs. E. C. Lloyd. Mrs. O’Bryon had been in her usual good health and had been as cheerful as ever during the day and the call of death came to her without the slightest warning or premonition of any kind. Mrs. O’Bryon had anticipated the meeting with the other members of the ladies’ club at the Lloyd home during the forenoon and looked forward to it with pleasure. During the afternoon she was assigned a number on the program and she was to read a paper as part of the entertainment. It was while she was engaged in the reading of the paper that she pitched forward and undoubtedly died immediately. Dr. J. F. Pinkham, who was called at once, stated that life was extinct when he arrived a few minutes later. Mrs. O’Bryon was the daughter of Charles and Miranda Watson, pioneer residents of this community, and came here with her parents when she was 8 years old. For the past 65 years she had made this city her home, and where among both old and young, she has a legion of friends who will deeply regret her passing even at the ripe old age which she had reached. Surviving are the husband, a daughter, Mrs. Claude Peifer, of Grand Rapids, and a son, W. Frank O’Bryon, of this city. Donald Pilkinton, who was raised by his grandmother, is a son of a daughter, Grace who died many years ago. Other grandchildren are Tom O’Bryon, of Ann Arbor, and Austin O’Bryon, Jeanette and John French, of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Carolyn Reynolds, of Kalamazoo. Mrs. Jeanette Runyon, of Ann Arbor, is a sister. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home and burial will be in River Ridge cemetery.
