Ionia County News, 22 May 1947

Mrs. Frank O’Connell died at her home at 614 W. Lincoln, Friday morning, May 16. 
She had been failing in health for several years but had been seriously ill only a
week.

Agnes McCarthy was born in Livingston County, August 15, 1866, and was married to
Frank O’Connell May 4, 1887.  Mr. and Mrs. O’Connell observed their sixtieth wedding
anniversary last May 4, on their return to Ionia from Lansing where they spent the
winter.

Surviving besides her husband are a son, Bruce, of Ionia, a daughter, Genevieve, of
Lansing; four grand children and one great grand child.

Solemn Requiem Mass was offered by Msgr. John Gabriels of Resurrection church,
Lansing, assisted by Father John S. Fons and Father Gerald Guzikowski.  Burial was
in Mt. Olivet cemetery.  Bearers were Martin McNamara, Harry Warnes, W.P. Brogan,
Frank McCarthy, Frank Corcoran and Peter O’Conner.
