Funeral service was conducted at 10 o’clock Monday morning at St. John Baptist
church in Hubbardston for Dennis James O’Connell, 67, who died Saturday morning
in Clinton Memorial hospital at St. Johns.  He had been seriously ill one week
and was hospitalized about 24 hours.

Mr. McConnell lived most of his life in Hubbardston.  He had lived on a farm 28
years before moving to the village.  He was born June 27, 1894, the son of
Florence and Ellen Halloran O’Connell, and was married October 1, 1918 to Mamie
Stoddard who survives him.  Mr. O’Connell was a member of St. John The Baptist
Catholic church.

Surviving besides his wife, Mamie, are two daughters, Mrs. Helen Hills of Mason,
and Mrs. Vera O’Grady of Hubbardston; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. John
McMillan of Carson City, and sister Kieran of Ypsilanti.

Funeral arrangements were made by Burns funeral home in Carson City.  The Rev.
E.R. Fox officiated and burial was at St. John The Baptist cemetery.
