Ionia County News, 8 Feb 1923

Hubbardston – Miss Bridgett O’Connor, age 86, passed away at her home in the 
village Friday morning at 4:30.  Miss O’Connor was born in Ontario, Canada, 
March 17, 1836.  Her death marks the passing of this branch of the O’Connor 
generation.  For the past thirteen years she has been confined to her bed.  
During that time her niece, Miss Bridgett Lacroix, has lavished upon her every 
care and attention.  Many years ago she took Miss Lacroix and William Lacroix, 
and treated them with all the care that their parents would have given them had 
they lived.  At that time she did not foresee that before her death both would 
amply repay her for her kindness.  Funeral services were held from St. John 
church Tuesday morning.  W. C. Lacroix of Deer River, Minnesota, was here to 
attend the funeral.
