Mrs. Mary C. O’Harrow Laid to Rest at Age 97

Mrs. Mary C. O’Harrow, who has spent all of her life until ten years ago in and
near Alto, passed away in a convalescent home in Grand Rapids Sunday evening at
the advanced age of 97 years, following an illness of one month’s duration. 
Mrs. O’Harrow was born December 12, 1852, on a farm south of Lowell, and was an
active citizen always.  She was a former member of the Alto Methodist Church and
the Alto Garden Club.  

After the death of her husband, Edson, ten years ago, she went to Grand Rapids
where she made her home with her son, John, who died eight months ago, at the
age of 72.  Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Mrs. John O’Harrow of Grand
Rapids; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two
great-great-grandchildren.  

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock at Roth Funeral
Home, the Rev. John Gregory officiating.  Burial was in South Boston cemetery.
