                               PAULA D.O'KEEFFE

IONIA-Paula D.O'Keeffe, 48, of 148 East Washington Street,Ionia, died Dec.3 from 
injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A kindergarten teacher in Ionia Public Schools since the 1970-1971 school years, 
shew was currently teaching two sections of kindergarten at Jefferson Elementary 
School. All flags at school district buildings were lowered to half-staff in her 
memory Thursday.

Born Sept. 11, 1938, in Romeo, she was the daughter of Eugene and Lillian 
Cunningham Deegan.

She graduated from Nazareth College in Kalamazoo.

She was married to John P. O'Keeffe on July 13, 1963, in Romeo and they made 
their home in Ionia since their marriage.

She was a member of S.S.Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Surviving are her husband John P.;two daughters,Mary Murphy O'Keeffe and 
Kathleen Dempsey O'Keeffee, both of Ionia; a son Patrick Deegan O'Keeffee of San 
Diego, Calif.; two brothers, Joseph Deegan of Suttons Bay and Peter Deegan of 
Port Huron; and several niece and nephews.

The family will be at the Main Street Chapel of Montgomery Funeral Home Friday 
from 2 to 4 p.m and 7 to 8:30 p.m., with Rosary services at 8 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held from SS.Peter & Paul Church at 11 a.m. 
Saturday.
