The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, date unknown
Roger O. Olive, born October 22, 1919.  Roger Olive and his wife Charlotte 
moved to Ionia in 1952.  Dr. Olive worked for the Department of Mental Health 
at the Ionia State Hospital, retiring in 1981.  He was an active member in the 
community and a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ionia.  
Dr. Olive died Friday, March 7, 2003 at Heartland Health Care Center in Ionia.

His wife, Charlotte Olive, preceded him in death.  He is survived by his 
daughter, Eileen (Bob) Mooney of Alden, his grandson, Chris (Laurie) Mooney of 
Grand Ledge, his granddaughter, Jennifer (Jack) Turner of Grand Ledge, his 
grand grandchildren, Molly, Daniel and Joseph Mooney of Grand Ledge, a brother-
in-law, Alvin Viening, and a sister-in-law, Patricia Kammeraad of Grand 
Rapids, along with nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being made by Dykstra Funeral Home of Holland.  A funeral 
service will be held on Monday, March 10, 2003 in Holland.  Any contributions 
should be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Ionia or Heartland Health 
Care Center of Ionia in Roger’s name.
