He had lived there for the past 11 months and had been a lifelong resident of the Orleans and Belding areas. Barbering was his profession. He was a member of the Belding Masonic Lodge, No. 355, Saladin Temple, Shrine No. 60 of Grand Rapids and BPOE Ionia chapter. Mr. Olmstead’s parents were Jay and Maude Olmstead. He was born at Carson City, June 1, 1908, and was married to Carlene Kelsey, December 23, 1933. She survives, along with a daughter, Mrs. Stuart (Deanna) Nielsen, of Garden Grove, Calif, one brother, Donald of Ionia, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. from the Ellis Funeral home with the Rev. H. S. Ellis officiating and burial in Orleans cemetery with the Masonic Lodge No. 355 of Belding services. Cremation has taken place. Interment of ashes will be in Orleans cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alvah N. Belding Library.
