Headline:  Mrs. Olmstead, Aged Orleans Resident, Dead.  Had Resided in Ionia 
County for 74 Years After Birth in Sebewa Township

Mrs. Marcha Jennett Olmstead, widow of William Olmstead, died at her home in 
Orleans township Sunday morning after a two weeks’ illness that resulted from 
injuries that she received when she slipped on the ice.

Born in Sebewa township September 1, 1855, she had resided in the county the 
74 years of her life and had lived in Orleans township for 40 years.  Her 
marriage to William Olmstead took place December 10, 1874, his death occurring 
20 years ago.

Surviving are six children, A. I. Olmstead, of Ionia; Chub Olmstead, Grand 
Rapids; Carl and Clay Olmstead, Orleans; Mrs. Addie Patterson, Lansing, and 
Mrs. Eugene Rowley of Orleans, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a 
brother, and two sisters.

The funeral services will be held from the home Wednesday at 1 o’clock and the 
interment will take place in the Orleans cemetery.
