The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, March 19, 1990
Belding – Marton R. Olmstead, 86, of 518 McKinley St., Belding, died March 18 
at Ionia County Memorial Hospital.  Born Dec. 3, 1903 in Orleans, he was the 
son of Carl and Myrtle (Holland) Olmstead.  

He was employed in plant protection by A.O. Smith Co. from 1950 until his 
retirement in 1967.  He married Esther Kanouse Nov. 21, 1933 in Ionia.  She 
survives.

Also surviving are a son Carl of Belding; four grandchildren; and four great-
grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Huffman Funeral Home, the 
Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating.  Burial will be in Orleans Cemetery.  
Visitation is Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may 
be made to the Belding Library or the Diabetes Association.
